December 2003 - Well - it's been awhile since the renovations section has been updated, but - as evident from what you will read below, things certainly have not been stagnating.
Though 2003 didn't prove to truly be 'year of the house'1 the renovations have progressed. We (yes I can say we now - check the footnote) have engaged an Architect who has drawn up a number of sketch plans which are evolving into what will be an fantastic house.

1 'Year of the House' was intended to stop me from spending money pursuing the affections of the fairer sex and spending it instead on renovations. The theory being, by the time I've bought flowers, taken her to dinner, movies, bought wine/cooked, the money spent would equate to a significant amount of building supplies. Given my previous history, it was apparent at the time of devising this theory that the money would be better spent at the local hardware & building supplies store than the local dining and entertainment establishments.
Fortunately, this theory was tossed aside soon after Easter with the $$ earmarked for renovations going toward far more fun fortnightly trips to Blenhiem and Nelson to visit a special someone who will become my wife in January of 2004.
