Well - it happened like this... On Friday 26 September 2003, after a particularly nice dinner at Portafino in the Viaduct and a leisurely stroll along the waterfront we caught the ferry to Devonport. Prearranged transport awaited and we drove up to North Head Lookout, the site of our first kiss, to admire the view of Auckland City at night. Being an overcast evening Rob professed there was only one star to be seen in the sky that evening and held the ring skyward for Amanda to see. Then on bended knee Rob popped the question and amid a few tears brought on by the overwhelming romance of the moment, Amanda said yes.
